Frequently asked questions
Is it really solid olive wood?
Yes โ one solid piece, never laminated, painted, or coated. Just wood and a natural food-safe finish. Because it's real wood, no two pieces share the same grain: the one you receive is unlike any other.
How do I care for it?
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry it standing up. Every few weeks, rub in a little food-safe oil to keep the grain rich and protected. Treated this way, a piece lasts for decades.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
No โ the heat and the long soak are the only things that harm olive wood. A quick hand wash is all it needs, and it's what keeps it beautiful for years.
Will it stain or hold onto food smells?
No. Olive wood is one of the densest woods there is, so it barely absorbs anything โ no garlic or onion smell lingering, no tomato stains soaking in. It stays clean and neutral, meal after meal.
Is olive wood safe for non-stick and delicate pans?
Completely. It's firm enough to cook with but soft enough to leave no mark โ it glides over non-stick and enamel instead of scratching them like metal does.
Why is each piece limited?
The wood is reclaimed from olive trees and has to season for years before it can be worked. There's only so much of it, so pieces come in limited batches. When one is gone, the next has to wait for the wood to be ready.
